Cosmetic dentistry (bonding, veneers, whitening) changes the shape, colour or surface of teeth that are already reasonably well positioned.
Orthodontics, including clear aligners, moves teeth into a better position where crowding, gaps or bite issues are the underlying problem.
Many patients combine the two — straightening first with aligners, then finishing with bonding or whitening for a complete result.
