Composite or porcelain veneers?

Composite veneers are built up directly on the tooth, chairside, usually in a single visit. They're less expensive and fully reversible, but typically last around 5–7 years before needing refinement.

Porcelain veneers are made in a lab from a impression or digital scan, fitted over two or more visits, and involve a small amount of enamel preparation. They resist staining far better and typically last 10–15 years or more.

The honest trade-off: composite is faster, cheaper and reversible; porcelain is a bigger investment but a longer-lasting, more stain-resistant result.
